Accessing the ACMA Assist Portal Made Easier
Date : 05 / 06 / 2026
Author : Justin Giles-Clark - VK7TW
A significant finding from the 2025 ACMA Performance Survey revealed that 57% of responding amateurs had never accessed
the ACMA Assist Portal, despite it being the ACMA's preferred online service for managing amateur radio records and licensing information.
In response, the WIA has produced a comprehensive guide to help amateurs navigate the system and take advantage of the services
available through the portal.
The article explains how the portal allows amateurs to view qualification and call sign information, manage contact details,
pay invoices, reconfirm eligible call signs, and, for assessors, access examination material online.
It also outlines the alternative methods available for amateurs who prefer to contact the ACMA directly by telephone or email.
A major focus of the guide is the transition to the Australian Government's myID digital identity system.
The article provides step-by-step instructions for creating and linking a myID account, explains the identity verification requirements,
and offers practical advice for amateurs who may have changed email addresses or are having difficulty linking existing ACMA records
to their online account.
The guide also covers common issues such as duplicate ACMA Assist accounts, locating missing call signs, and accessing examination records
and assigned call sign information once successfully logged in.
If you have not yet explored the ACMA Assist Portal, this article provides an excellent starting point.
